BASSOON OUT LOUD

Bassoon Out Loud is my new concert series.The next show, Ophelia Speaks, is on September 25 at 3 pm at Heliconian Hall.  I will play Vivaldi #14 & 27 and Le Dernier Chant d’Ophélie & the string players will each play solo works.

Our season roster showcases a huge range of performers and repertoire, from Vivaldi to brand spanking new concerti. Guest artists include my lifelong friend and writer Leslie Magowan, ninja poet Harry Posner, singer songwriter extraordinaire Valdy, lyric mezzo Paula Arceniega, Canadian superstar keyboardists Heather Taves, Rachael Kerr, Karel Roessingh, Paul Jenkins and Stephan Sylvestre, flute virtuoso Leslie Newman,the dynamic bassoon section of the Toronto Symphony including Michael Sweeney, Catherine Chen & Samuel Banks, and a team of the best bright-eyed, concerto-slinging string players in the country. We even have a Major Tom singalong! All shows come with an allergy warning —- these concerts may contain bassoon concerti.

TICKETS are $30 ($20 for seniors/students) 12-Pack of tickets, 12 concerts for $300 ($200 for seniors/students)

Eventually we’ll be including a full catalogue of all my art, over 50 works, including many that are for sale along with those already in private collections.

THINGS GOING ON

I had a phenomenal residency with the energetic and wonderful Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and their brilliant, insightful and visionary conductor, Dinuk Wijeratne.  Here is a review of our last concert in Halifax.

And at 3 p.m. September 25, my next show in Toronto.  Ophelia Speaks.  Vivaldi Concerti #14 & 27 and Le Dernier Chant d’Ophélie, with solo string movements from each member of the string quintet, including new works by Matthias McIntire (Premise for Solo Viola) and Andrew Downing (Kontrabas Semaisi).
